A Community of Impact

Gratitude is the word that immediately comes to mind when I think about my time as president of the Andrew Carnegie Society Board of Directors. I am grateful I had the opportunity to lead this group of talented individuals, and grateful for the collective impact of the ACS community over the past two years. I know our impact will only continue to grow under the leadership of David Hilliard (DC 1973), the board’s next president, and I am excited to see where his passion, experience and dedication will take us.

I’m also grateful for the connections I made with the ACS Scholars. I learned so much from them — about NFTs, Discord, no-code agents — and enjoyed supporting them as they completed their undergraduate journeys here at ÎÞÂëרÇø. Thanks to our new LinkedIn group — which you will read about in this issue — it will be easier than ever to maintain those connections.

I’m grateful to be connected to the ACS community, too. I encourage you to continue sharing your story about why you support ÎÞÂëרÇø and ask other members to do the same. It was rewarding to hear so many of your stories through our outreach. I am grateful for everything you do for the Andrew Carnegie Society.

Lastly, I am grateful to everyone who contributed to the ACS Executive Board Undergraduate Research Challenge on Giving ÎÞÂëרÇø Day. Each contribution represents an investment in the future of Carnegie Mellon and the innovations, achievements, breakthroughs and collaborations that will change the world.

With gratitude,

Meet the Scholars

The ACS Scholars are a group of 40 undergraduate seniors who embody ÎÞÂëרÇø’s high standards of academic excellence, volunteerism, leadership and campus involvement. They work hard to achieve their academic and career goals and are supported along the way by incredible mentors from the ACS Board.

Ìý

The ACS Scholars program recognizes undergraduate seniors who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement and make a transformative impact on the Tartan community through service and leadership.Ìý

Each scholar receives a monetary award to advance their learning and career goals from endowed funds established by generous ACS members. They also receive access to invaluable networking and mentorship opportunities like the ACS Board liaison program.Ìý

These resources and opportunities help the scholars develop strong leadership skills and make an impact — on campus, around the community and in their future careers.
